Ayanda Chisholm selected as Adobe Youth Voices Creative Scholarship Winner

We are thrilled to announce that Adobe Foundation has presented Ayanda Chisoholm with the Adobe Youth Voices Scholarship  for her merit in film. Ayanda will be graduating as part of the class of 2015 from Garfield High School, and is passionate about social justice. She is part of many clubs including Black Student Union, whom have been active in speaking out on race relations in Seattle. Their activism was captured in an article by the Seattle Times called, “Garfield’s Black Student Union: ‘This is our time … to speak’”.

As part of Reel Grrls, Ayanda has created shorts like Sleep Cycle in our Lights, Camera, Reel Grrls program, and Black Beauty in the White Gaze, as part of the Apprenticeship Program.

We are proud that Ayanda plans to continue to pursue filmmaking in the Fall.
