Reel Grrls is excited to make this Open Call for Teaching Artists & Mentors with a wide variety of skills and experience including specialized filmmaking skills and strengths in youth leadership development, media literacy, justice, gender studies, visual arts, performance, allyship and advocacy.
Great facilitation and leadership is at the core of Reel Grrls programming. We are currently seeking to grow our range of programs, and our team of class facilitators. If you are an experienced media professional with expertise in any of the following skills such as: dslr cameras and cinematography, sound design, advanced lighting, advanced editing, animation, motion graphics, music composition, scriptwriting and storyboarding. Teaching for Reel Grrls means that you have the expertise and skill to teach aspects of media making to grrl-centered learning groups ranging from 9-yrs-old to you-better-not-ask in collaboration with other creative professionals in fun and empowering ways. Instructors are paid a competitive wage and expected to not just be smart, and funny, BUT also totally love that Reel Grrls is all about grrl power and media justice. Flexible schedule. Your participation and time commitment would vary as our workshop and program models range from 3hr workshops with community partners to continuous after-school programs and residencies over 6-12 weeks. Additionally, we provide quarterly trainings to stay on our growing edges as community of professionals in tech, media making, & youth development!
