The Northwest Film Forum (1515 12th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122) will be co-hosting the Film Finances 101 Q&A and Workshop on the Fledgling Fund on April 1st 1pm – 3pm.
Cost: Free w/ a suggested donation of $15
The finances of filmmaking is a critical part of getting your story produced. Join us with local filmmakers that will share their experience in all things finances and financing in filmmaking.
The panel will be moderated by Nancy Chang, Executive Director of Reel Grrls.
o Elizabeth Heilie, Line Producer
Elizabeth works as a line producer and business affairs manager with independent films and series that are dedicated to optimizing available spend for project goals and maximizing team job satisfaction. Her work includes Danger Diva, Worst Laid Plans, JourneyQuest Season 3, and Strowlers.
o J. Brad Wilke, Smart House Creative Founder Brad (@jbwilke) is a screenwriter with a number of produced feature-length credits, as well as a project set to go in front of the cameras later this fall. He won 2005 IFP/Seattle Pitch Slam and owns the one-word pitch, PIRANHACONDA, that became a SyFy Original. Brad co-founded Smarthouse Creative, a digital marketing & strategy agency. He recently launched Front Row Live, a livestreaming platform that synchronizes online and offline audience engagement.
Stick around after the panel to learn about the Fledgling Fund (thefledglingfund.org), and take a stab with this grant with Jessie Gaupel, Fund Development Intern, and a graduate student in Seattle University’s Masters in Arts Leadership. This event is in partnership with NWFF, and our volunteer community speakers.
